The Brewers Association is an organization through the merger of the Association of Brewers and the Brewers' Association of America. In 2005.
Charlie Papazian is the founder of the Association of Brewers of America, which was started in 1978. This is one of the more prominent homebrew and beer club organizations we have found on the web.
Here is the association's definition of a craft brewer:
“Craft brewers are smaller brewers. Small brewers are defined as those who qualify for the Tax and Trade Bureau's small brewers excise tax differential by producing less than 2 million barrels annually.”
