The banks of the Russian River in California is the setting for one of California’s best beer festivals, the Russian River Beer Fest. This one day event in the middle of August is sponsored by the Stumptown Brewery and it boasts beers form 27 breweries and a BBQ featuring 25 BBQ teams in tasting and competition.

If competition level BBQ and great craft beer in the middle of summer along a riverbank in California does not sound appealing to you then your nuts and obviously in the wrong place. This is why you have to act ahead of time if you want to attend because this festival is so popular.

Tickets are $35 ahead of time and $40 at the gate with a $15 entrance fee for designated drivers. Also there is public transportation so if you are going to drink there is no reason to drive.

There will be live music during the day by the Phoenix Band.
