The Great American Beer Festival is probably the most renowned beer festival in America. This event occurs in mid October in Denver Colorado and has seen participant levels at over 40,000 participants in four sessions over three days.

There are over 350 craft breweries who attend the 3 day festival with numerous competitions and over 2400 beers judged in competition. In the past there were nearly 70 categories of beers which were judged in the festival’s beer competition and have been judged by over 100 beer aficionados from 9 countries. The average number of beers entered for each competition is 35 which is why you need so many beer judges.

There will be over 1500 beers available for sampling on the brewery floor so please bring a designated driver or take public transit. You can try as many of the beers in 1 oz samplers as you enjoy the festival.

One of the most interesting aspects of the festival is the beer food pairing seminars which are hosted by some of the more recognized brewers in America. There will also be demonstrations by national celebrity chefs on how to cook with beer and what styles of beer match best with different foods.
